Ambassador Spotlight - Steve Hrapkiewicz
What is the name of your business and where are you located?
BIGGBY Coffee 945 W. Stacy Rd. at the corner of Stacy and Watters, 1/2 mile west of the Allen Outlet Mall, but we are currently looking for another location, hopefully in McKinney, with a drive thru!.
Give us a brief description of your business.
We are a family friendly, fun coffee shop. We offer a full line of brewed coffees, teas, lattes, crème freezes, and other specialty beverages. You can get all of our beverages hot, iced or frozen. We also sell whole bean and ground coffee to order. Among our menu items are our bragels, which are a breakfast or brunch bagel sandwich, muffins, and a variety of bagels. We try to make every customer experience a special one utilizing our cultural values of B Happy, Have Fun, Make Friends, Love People, and Drink Great Coffee!
How have you benefited from being an Ambassador?
Serving as a McKinney Ambassador has given me the opportunity to meet new and existing businesses in the community in which I live. Part of the ambassador experience is attending ribbon cuttings, which is a chance to celebrate the opening or a significant milestone of a business. Attending the chamber LINKS meetings provides the opportunity to interact with over a hundred business operators on a weekly basis. An ambassador serves as part of a team and not only representing the chamber, but the community itself. It is a fun and rewarding experience.
Tell us about your involvement in the Community?
When we opened our business two years ago we decided we wanted to support meaningful events that serve the community. Over that time period we have provided beverages and our BIGGBY brand of service to such events as the Crepe Myrtle Run, the Ice Cream Crank Off, the Plano Balloon Fest, the Allen Eagle Run, many teacher and city employee appreciation breakfasts. We believe it is a great honor to serve the community.
Can you share a little about yourself and your family?
My wife Shelley and I relocated to Texas from Michigan three years ago with our daughter Annie to be near our three boys (Joey, Jake, and Alex) who already lived in Texas. I had retied from the corporate world and we decided to open a BIGGBY Coffee in the North Texas area because we really loved the coffee and the values BIGGBY represents. Our son Jake operates the coffee shop with Shelley and I. My family and I all agree that Texas is truly our new home and wish we would have moved years ago.Tell a Friend
