NTTA proposes additional lane on Sam Rayburn Tollroad
Lisa HermesThursday, July 6, 2017The following is a notice of public hearing from the North Texas Tollway Authority:
The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) is proposing the addition of one main lane in each direction along the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) from Business State Highway 121 (West) to U.S. Highway 75. The project is located within the cities of Allen, Carrollton, Coppell, Fairview, Frisco, Lewisville, McKinney, Plano and The Colony within Collin, Dallas, and Denton counties. The total distance of the proposed project is approximately 26 miles.
This notice advises the public that the NATTA will conduct a public hearing on the proposed project. The hearing will be held on July 25 at Taylor Elementary School, 9865 Gillespie Drive, Plano TX 75025. Displays will be available for viewing at 6:30 p.m. with the formal hearing starting at 7 p.m. The purpose of the hearing is to present the planned improvements and to receive public comment on the proposed project.
The proposed project would widen the SRT facility by adding one main lane in each direction within the existing median and construct operational improvements to enhance traffic flow along SRT. The purpose of the proposed project is to respond to the forecasted increase in traffic demand and on-going commercial and residential development in the project area.
The proposed improvements would be constructed entirely within existing operational right of way (ROW) and would not require additional ROW or easements. No residential or commercial displacements or relocations would be necessary. The proposed project would not adversely affect wetlands or the 100-year floodplain.
The draft environmental documentation, maps showing the project location and design, and other information regarding the project are on file and available for inspection Monday - Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the NTTA offices located at 5900 W. Plano Parkway, Suite 100, Plano TX 75093 and online at www.NTTA.org. This information will also be available for inspection at the hearing. Verbal and written comments from the public regarding the project are requested and may be presented at the time of the hearing. Written comments may be submitted in person or by mail to the address provided above. Please make them in attention to Mr. Sam Lopez. Comments will also be accepted by email at SRT4@NTTA.org. All comments must be received or postmarked on or before August 9, 2017 to be part of the official hearing record.
